Are You Mad x Nike Re-Creation

CONCEPT

Nike Re-Creation teamed up with the don of deconstruction, Zac Cabrera of Defective Garments, to sew new life into a fresh batch of second-hand, vintage, and old-stock Nike pieces that were featured at Bodega.

In a celebration of regenerative culture, guests were invited to experiment with some of their own upcycling including on-site custom chain stitching and screen printing.

We partnered with Are You Mad, a “conscious creative unit” specializing in upcycled plastic designs, to power their injection mould machine and extractor fan with free sun power from our creative community microgrid. Attendees were able to pick and choose plastic to recycle into new products including multi-colored carabiners, all while learning about closed-loop economies.
